How Much Longer Will God Tarry?

On November 29, 1947, the United Nations passed the "Plan of Partition with Economic Union." Resolution 181 created a Jewish state and a Palestinian state out of the former British Mandate.

The Jews accepted the plan as offered by the United Nations. The Arabs rejected it. Then they tried to take all of Palestine by force. They failed.

On Thursday, November 29, 2012 -- exactly 65 years later -- Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas called on the world body to forget the Arab rejection of its 1947 offer; overlook its five wars to annihilate Israel; and issue the Palestinians their long overdue "birth certificate."

The United Nations General Assembly happily complied and overwhelmingly approved the de facto recognition of a sovereign Palestinian state. The body voted to grant "nonmember observer state" status to three separate geographical regions in Israel: the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and east Jerusalem. Never mind that these areas are led by two UN-recognized terrorist groups.

Though the vote was largely symbolic since only the Security Council can grant official United Nations recognition of a state, it effectively changes the complexion of the situation in the Middle East.

There never has been a state of Palestine. Even when their fellow Muslims in Jordan and Egypt controlled the West Bank and Gaza Strip from 1948 to 1967, they refused to establish a state for the Palestinians or even recognize them.

But now, by simply elevating the Palestinian Authority from the designation of "entity" and attaching the word "state" to its name, the UN has changed the PA's status in the world. Mostly, it's opened up several possibilities - none of which are good for Israel.

For instance, the new status may permit the Palestinian Authority to achieve standing with the International Criminal Court. That would allow the Palestinians to endlessly charge Israel and its government and leaders with "war crimes." And even if those lawsuits are unsuccessful, they will complicate Israel's international dealings and may even make it dangerous for Israeli leaders to travel to other, less hospitable nations for fear of arrest.

The United Nations' vote also signaled several other disturbing things: First, its overwhelming endorsement of the Palestinians' quest for independence; Second, its pronounced disregard for Israel's national security concerns; and Third, its lack of concern for the critical danger imposed on a long-time member state (Israel) by continuous terrorist attacks.

And all of this in view of the fact that Israel was actually created by the United Nations!

To its credit, the United States along with Canada, the Czech Republic, and six other nations voted against the resolution. However, 138 of the 193 nations voted to further complicate the Mid-East peace process, if not torpedo it altogether.

Though US Ambassador Susan Rice reminded the General Assembly that voting for the resolution "does not establish that Palestine is a state," PA President Abbas saw it differently. Immediately upon returning to Ramallah, he told a joyous crowd of 5,000, "Yes, now we have a state!"

But he didn't stop there. Abbas told the celebrants, "One day a young Palestinian will raise the Palestinian flag over Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the state of Palestine!"

Does that sound like the reasonable voice of a viable "partner for peace?"

Well, to make a long story short, even Hamas has jumped onto the bandwagon. They're claiming that their "victory" over Israel's "Operation Pillar of Defense" made the positive vote at the UN possible. Now, everyone's getting chummy and it looks like Hamas is going to make nice with Fatah and the Palestinian Authority.

Israel's cabinet unanimously rejected the United Nations action. Then it went further. The Israeli government announced that it was proceeding with plans to construct 3,000 new apartments in east Jerusalem. And it's withholding $100 million in tax revenue it has collected on behalf of the PA. Since the Palestinians have an outstanding electric bill of $200 million owed to Israel, the Israelis are going to apply that money to the bill.

As you can guess, this has gone over like a lead balloon with the rest of the world. Even though the apartment construction project has been in the planning for several years, and the proposed site is vacant, under Israeli control, and not part of any existing agreements, the world is screaming bloody murder - and demanding that Israel back off.

Strangely, the announcements did not seem to dampen the Palestinians' jubilation at their newfound celebrity. And why should it? They've learned that all they have to do is sit back, relax, and let the world force Israel to do their bidding.

Just as the ancient prophets predicted.

But don't be fooled. God Himself figured this very thing might happen, so He made some special arrangements to protect His people. And He issued some ominous warnings to those who would mistreat the Jews. Let's just say it won't be pretty.

12/12/12-What If It Were Today-Are You Ready?

With today being 12/12/12, many people around the world are buzzing about the significance (if any) to this day. With the end of the Mayan calendar approaching on 12/21, people are asking if this is the "End of Days."

Here are just a few samples of what people around the world are talking about today.

* A Fox News headline reads: "With mere days to ‘doomsday,’ scientists call for calm."

* The Detroit Free Press has a story called: "Mayan doomsday or not, all eyes on Dec. 21."

* A headline in one British newspaper reads: "Doomsayers await the end of the world: But governments try to reassure their citizens not to panic."

* A headline in another British paper reads: "Mayan apocalypse: panic spreads as December 21 nears: Fears that the end of the world is nigh have spread across the world with only days until the end of the Mayan calendar, with doomsday-mongers predicting a cataclysmic end to the history of Earth."

* An Asian news site has a story called: "End of the world: There are only nine days left."

* Another Asian news service is running this headline: "Doomsday phobia hits China."

* Many are watching (or re-watching) the recent film, 2012.
To be clear: the Bible says nothing about 12/12/12. Nor does it say anything about the Mayan calendar. The prophecies in Scripture, however, do speak a great deal about the End of Days, known as the "last days" and the "latter times." In several of my books -- including Implosion: Can America Recover From Its Economic & Spiritual Challenges In Time? -- I examine a number of these prophecies and consider their implications for the U.S., Israel, and other nations.

To be honest, the Earth is not literally coming to an end this month. The Bible does say the earth will be destroyed someday, and then He will create a new earth. "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away," wrote the Apostle John in a prophecy about the future found in Revelation 21:1. The Apostle Peter wrote, "The heavens will pass aways with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up." (2 Peter 3:10). 

But four major prophetic events happen before the literal destruction and recreation of our planet: 
  • 1) the Rapture; 
  • 2) the Tribulation, a seven year period of God's judgment; 
  • 3) the Second Coming of Christ; and 
  • 4) the "Millennial Kingdom," a thousand year period in which Christ reigns over the entire earth. 
At the present moment, if the Rapture were to take place today, we are at least 1,007 years away from the end of the earth.

A question that many are asking today is, "does the Bible teach about the second coming of Jesus and something called “the Rapture?"

The Bible describes two separate and distinct future events, both of which are often described as the Second Coming. The first event is what Bible scholars call the Rapture. In 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, the apostle Paul writes that “the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.” In this passage, Paul is describing an event in which Jesus Christ will not physically, literally touch down on the earth but will first come “in the clouds” and snatch away His true followers from the earth in an instant of time. Those who have not chosen to follow Christ, those who have not been “born again,” will remain behind on the earth and will have to go through a terrible time of wars, famines, natural disasters, and divine judgments known as the Tribulation.

The second event occurs at the end of the Tribulation. This is when the Bible teaches that Jesus will physically, literally return to earth, destroy His enemies, and set up His own righteous government based in Jerusalem. He will reign on earth for one thousand years. In Revelation 19:11–20:6, the apostle John writes, “I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. . . . He will rule [the nations]. . . . And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and he threw him into the abyss. . . . And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God . . . and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. . . . Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection. . . . They will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.”

Another question is, "Are there any signs that will indicate when the return of Jesus Christ is close at hand, and if so, what are they?"

One day while Jesus and His disciples were sitting on the Mount of Olives, overlooking the city of Jerusalem, the disciples asked Him this very question. Their query is recounted in Matthew 24:3.

“Tell us,” they said, “what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Jesus could have refused to answer the question. Instead, He answered them at great length and detail. His answers are recorded in Matthew chapter 24 and in Luke chapter 21, and they provide a checklist of signs to watch for. Among them:
  • Revolutions (Luke 21:9, NIV)
  • The rise of false prophets and false messiahs (Matthew 24:4-5, 11, 23-27)
  • Wars and rumors of wars (Matthew 24:6)
  • Nations rising against nations (Matthew 24:7)
  • Kingdoms rising against kingdoms (Matthew 24:7)
  • Famines (Matthew 24:7)
  • Plagues (Luke 21:11)
  • Earthquakes (Matthew 24:7) and “great earthquakes” (Luke 21:11)
  • “Terrors” that lead to “men fainting from fear” (Luke 21:11, 26)
  • Persecution of the believers (Matthew 24:9)
  • Apostasy and betrayal of one another (Matthew 24:10)
  • Increasing lawlessness (Matthew 24:12)
  • People’s love for one another growing cold (Matthew 24:12)
  • “The roaring of the sea and the waves” (Luke 21:25)
  • The good news (the gospel) of Christ’s love and forgiveness will be preached “in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations”—even Muslim nations, even Radical nations—“and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14)
Jesus cautioned His followers not to speculate on the exact time of the Rapture or the Second Coming. In Matthew 24:36, He said that “of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.” But “day and hour” is a very narrow slice of time. By giving us at least fifteen other specific signs that would be happening in the last days, Jesus clearly wanted us to know when the time of His return was rapidly approaching.

Why? He gave the answer in Matthew 24:42, when He said, “Therefore, be on the alert.” He reinforced the point in the next verse, when again He urged His followers to be “on the alert.” In Matthew 24:44, He stressed this critical point for a third time. “You also must be ready,” He insisted, “for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.”

Followers of Jesus Christ who study these signs are coming to the conclusion that they are being fulfilled today and that we are, in fact, living in the last days. They are, after all, living through revolutions, wars and rumors of wars, and horrifying persecution, for starters.

They have no idea precisely when Jesus will return, of course. But given how closely world events are tracking with Bible prophecy, they find themselves increasingly motivated to “be ready” by living lives of holiness, by sharing the gospel with Muslims and nominal Christians, by making disciples of all nations, and by planting new church congregations throughout the region.

That said, a final thought: while this month will not see the literal end of the world, is it theoretically possible that the Rapture could happen this month, even on 12/12/12? It is possible. I'm not saying it will happen that way. I have no idea. No one but God knows when the Ratpure will happen. But it could happen at any time. We should, therefore, be ready at any moment. Coming Into The Midnight Hour?

The past few weeks, I haven't done a lot because of vacation, and the news was changing everyday. But I have been studying in Ezekiel and share the following thought. Feel free to pass on.

21 Son of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against it,
22 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.
23 For I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
24 And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
25 Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.
26 And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.

God says, "I intend to regather Israel." Satan cannot disturb His plan and program with the children of Israel. Neither can any theologian today dismiss God's plan to restore Israel to the land in peace. One reason that so many theologians are believed when they say that God is through with the nation Israel is because God's people are not acquainted with Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, the minor prophets, and Revelation. The theme song of these prophets is that God is not through with Israel as a nation. For this reason they should be studied. They throw new light on the Word of God so that it is no longer a jigsaw puzzle, but everything falls into place.

Neither has the Church (replacement theology) taken over the place of the nation of Israel.
There is a powerful movement afoot called Replacement Theology which states that the church is Israel and the promises given to Israel were primarily for the church. This movement is incurring the wrath of God, as it increasingly condemns the nation of Israel as illegitimate, which is natural for folks who
believe the church has replaced Israel. Even among those who still hold to Israel to one degree or another, there seems to be a propensity for yanking Old Testament promises out of the Bible
-- and, I might add, out of context -- and indiscriminately applying them to modern church situations.


In verse 25. God says, "When I shall have gathered the house of Israel"—God was talking about their  long captivity. During this time of captivity, God had been preparing the land for them so as to make it a safe dwelling; and hence he executed judgments on all the heathen nations round about by means of the Chaldeans. Thus Tyre and Sidon were destroyed, as were the Ammonites and others who had been the inveterate enemies of the Jews. Judgment first began at his own house, then proceeded to the
heathen nations; and when they were brought down, then he visited and redeemed his people. Thus God's ways are proved to be all equal; partialities and caprices belong not to him.

God will be glorified in the restoration of his people to their former safety and prosperity. God had been dishonoured by the sins of his people, and their sufferings too had given occasion to the enemy to blaspheme (Isaiah 52:5); but God will now both cure them of their sins and ease them of their troubles, and so will be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, will recover the honour of his holiness, to the satisfaction of all the world, v. 25. For,

(1.) They shall return to the possession of their own land again: I will gather the house of Israel out of their dispersions, in answer to that prayer (Psa. 106:27), Save us, O Lord our God! and gather us from among the heathen; and in pursuance of that promise (Deu. 30:4), Thence will the Lord thy God gather thee. Being gathered, they shall be brought in a body, to dwell in the land that I have given to my servant Jacob. God had an eye to the ancient grant, in bringing them back, for that remained in force, and the discontinuance of the possession was not a defeasance of the right. He that gave it will again give it.

The next is future.

(2.) They shall enjoy great tranquillity there. When those that have been vexatious to them are taken off they shall live in quietness; there shall be no more a pricking brier nor a grieving thorn, v. 24. They shall have a happy settlement, for they shall build houses, and plant vineyards; and they shall enjoy a happy security and serenity there; they shall dwell safely, shall dwell with confidence, and there shall be none to disquiet them or make them afraid, v. 26. This never had full accomplishment in the body of that people, for after their return out of captivity they were ever and anon molested by some bad neighbour or other. Nor has the gospel-church been ever quite free from pricking briers and grieving thorns; yet sometimes the church has rest, and believers always dwell safely under the divine protection and may be quiet from the fear of evil. But the full accomplishment of this promise is reserved for the heavenly Canaan, when all the saints shall be gathered together, and every thing that offends shall be removed, and all griefs and fears for ever banished.

What are we to believe about psychics, the paranormal, ghosts, and hauntings?


Is there such a thing as ghosts? The answer to this question depends on what precisely is meant by the term “ghosts.” If the term means “spirit beings,” the answer is a qualified “yes.” If the term means “spirits of people who have died,” the answer is “no.” The Bible makes it abundantly clear that there are spirit beings, both good and evil. But the Bible negates the idea that the spirits of deceased human beings can remain on earth and “haunt” the living.

Hebrews 9:27 declares, “Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” That is what happens to a person’s soul-spirit after death—judgment. The result of this judgment is heaven for the believer (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23) and hell for the unbeliever (Matthew 25:46; Luke 16:22-24). There is no in-between. There is no possibility of remaining on earth in spirit form as a “ghost.” If there are such things as ghosts, according to the Bible, they absolutely cannot be the disembodied spirits of deceased human beings.

The Bible teaches very clearly that there are indeed spirit beings who can connect with and appear in our physical world. The Bible identifies these beings as angels and demons. Angels are spirit beings who are faithful in serving God. Angels are righteous, good, and holy. Demons are fallen angels, angels who rebelled against God. Demons are evil, deceptive, and destructive. According to 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, demons masquerade as “angels of light” and as “servants of righteousness.” Appearing as a “ghost” and impersonating a deceased human being definitely seem to be within the power and abilities that demons possess.

The closest biblical example of a “haunting” is found in Mark 5:1-20. A legion of demons possessed a man and used the man to haunt a graveyard. There were no ghosts involved. It was a case of a normal person being controlled by demons to terrorize the people of that area. Demons only seek to “kill, steal, and destroy” (John 10:10). They will do anything within their power to deceive people, to lead people away from God. This is very likely the explanation of “ghostly” activity today. Whether it is called a ghost, a ghoul, or a poltergeist, if there is genuine evil spiritual activity occurring, it is the work of demons.

What about instances in which “ghosts” act in “positive” ways? What about psychics who claim to summon the deceased and gain true and useful information from them? Again, it is crucial to remember that the goal of demons is to deceive. If the result is that people trust in a psychic instead of God, a demon will be more than willing to reveal true information. Even good and true information, if from a source with evil motives, can be used to mislead, corrupt, and destroy.

Interest in the paranormal is becoming increasingly common. There are individuals and businesses that claim to be “ghost-hunters,” who for a price will rid your home of ghosts. Psychics, séances, tarot cards, and mediums are increasingly considered normal. Human beings are innately aware of the spiritual world. Sadly, instead of seeking the truth about the spirit world by communing with God and studying His Word, many people allow themselves to be led astray by the spirit world. The demons surely laugh at the spiritual mass-deception that exists in the world today.

Christian Persecution In America?

Over the past few weeks, I have been caught up in all the rhetoric of the debates, and all the lies going around, really from both sides. In the midst, I came across an article concerning religious persecution in America.

If you think these are just stories, you need to read on.

Throughout 2012, numerous incidents have been making headlines pertaining to the persecution of Christians in America. Some believe that persecution is on the rise, and that matters will only continue to get worse across the country on both the federal and local levels.

While circumstances have not escalated to the intensity taking place in countries such as Nigeria, where Christians are being mass murdered and their churches set on fire by the Islamic group Boko Haram, or North Korea, where thousands of believers are being held in prison camps for their faith in Christ, many note that persecution is here nonetheless.July of this year, Jesse Boyd of Full Proof Gospel Ministries, a missionary to Southeast Asia, was placed under arrest while witnessing at an Independence Day celebration in Holly Ridge, North Carolina. Ricky Springer, a friend of Boyd’s, had been preaching to attendees, while Boyd quietly distributed tracts and filmed Springer preaching. After an intoxicated crowd member began to take issue with the preaching, Officer Keith Whaley approached and demanded that Springer cease and desist his activities.

Boyd then attempted to assist Springer by asking Whaley what law was being violated, but Boyd stated that Whaley refused to provide an answer. When Chief John Maiorano returned with Whaley and still refused to provide answers, then walked away in a huff, Boyd called out to the officers, “This is the USA, not the Soviet Union. Shame on you, you need to repent . . . I am not disrespecting you; I respect your office, but not your manner. This is America.”

Upon uttering the word “repent,” Boyd was taken into custody and jailed. He was released on $500 bond and charged with disorderly conduct for using “abusive language” against police that “incites violence.”

Days later, the charge against Boyd was dismissed by District Attorney Ernie Lee, citing Boyd’s First Amendment right to free speech.

In August of this year, Mike Stockwell of Cross Country evangelism was cited in Philadelphia for disorderly conduct when a female heckler exposed her breasts as he was preaching.

Lieutenant Thomas McLean immediately grabbed into Stockwell to stop him from preaching. Officer Thomas Ohm concurred that Stockwell should be cited over the woman’s response to his message.

“You’re drawing a crowd, and that young lady exposing herself, that ended it. Once you cross that boundary of freedom of speech in drawing a malicious or out-of-order crowd, that’s when we have to stop it,” Ohm outlined.

The woman was the sole individual that interrupted Stockwell that night.

“I thought it was ridiculous,” Stockwell told Christian News Network. “What was I doing that was disorderly?”

Ohm informed Stockwell that if he continued in his activities, he would go to jail, at least for a few hours, if not the weekend.

In September, six Christians in New Orleans, Lousiana were arrested for violating a city ordinance that restricted them from preaching on the infamous Bourbon Street after sunset. The street is generally quiet during the day, and is the center of nightlife after dark.

Pastor Troy Bohn of RAVEN Ministries told Christian News Network that as one of the men were being placed in handcuffs, he heard a sergeant give the order, “Be sure to find out what church they are with because we are going to start going after these churches.”

“It kind of chilled me,” he stated. “Are we the threat preaching Jesus? No, I kind of like to think that we are holding back the darkness.”

Three of the six Christians were then cited with violating the ordinance, which carries a maximum penalty of a $500 fine and six months imprisonment.

While one of the Christians arrested, Kelsey Bohn, obtained a temporary restraining order against the ordinance, the three that were cited still face a court date on October 31st.

Earlier this month, six Christians in Jersey City, New Jersey all received citations for engaging in free speech activity without a permit. They were prohibited from preaching effectively or distributing tracts without first obtaining government permission.

The Jersey City Police Department also stated that because members of the public were upset with the message being proclaimed, the officers had a right to prevent potential violence. They stated that in such cases, police protocol is to disperse the crowd and silence the speaker.

All six Christians await a hearing on November 23rd.

In using Ordinances to stop house meetings, one of the largest and most noted cases this year was the imprisonment of Michael Salman of Phoenix, Arizona, for holding private worship services in a building that he constructed in his back yard.

Salman states that he was told by the city that he could not hold Bible studies in his home without converting it into an official church, which at first, he attempted to do.

“Bible studies are not allowed to be conducted in your residence or the barn on your property as these structures do not comply with the construction code for this use,” one letter from the city stated, which Salman presented in an online video. Another letter from Assistant Development Services Director Robert J. Goodhue, now retired, outlined, “…Bible studies are not allowed in the residence… The simple and direct answer [as to why] is that the Bible study use requires a change of occupancy.”

Salman spent sixty days in jail this summer, and was released last month after serving his sentence. At last report, he was serving house arrest for holding the worship services with family and friends on his 4.6 acre property without comporting with commercial standards.

In June, a couple in San Juan Capistrano, California had been fined $300 for violating the city’s zoning ordinance, which prohibits “religious, fraternal or non-profit [home] gatherings” of 4 or more people without a permit. However, due to the public outcry over the case, the city council changed its zoning code to remove penalties against those who host home Bible studies without government permission.

In July, the home of Keith Mason, president of Personhood USA was vandalized by pro-abortion protesters who despised his stand for life.


Profanity and images of coat hangers were spray painted all over the siding of the house, and a large rock was thrown at the front door, shattering glass onto the porch and throughout the living room. The children’s toys and items for the new baby were covered in shards of glass.

Two days later, Everett Stadig, a volunteer with Personhood USA, was attacked while collecting signatures for the pro-life organization outside of a local grocery store. Stadig, who suffered multiple injuries, was hurt so severely that he had to be hospitalized, including for a broken hip.

In August, Christian News Network reported on a street preacher named Gene Duffy, who was threatened with a knife and gun by two bystanders that despised his message.
Duffy, 67, said that he was singing Christian songs with his guitar on an outparcel near the Semmes, Alabama Wal-Mart when he was approached by Sandra Jarman, 53, who was wielding a knife, and Jesse Reid, 26, who was carrying a pistol. The two began to rail on Duffy that they did not like the message he was presenting.

“They hated it. They hated God,” Duffy told Christian News Network. “[They said] that I should be arrested for trying to put that stuff on people.”

These stories are just the tip of the iceberg of what has occurred throughout 2012 across the United States.

In these times, some may point to 2 Timothy 3:13 and Matthew 24:14: “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse … And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

For others, who are apprehensive about making any hasty statements regarding the signs of the times or the end of the age, they still agree that persecution is indeed here.

Ahmadinejad: Mahdi Will "Soon" Reign Over Whole World




Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday called for the end of the "hegemonic" powers of the United States and Israel, whom he described as "the uncivilized Zionists." He said the world would "soon" see new "global management" by the Twelfth Imam, also known as the "Mahdi," and his deputy, Jesus Christ. 

This was Ahmadinejad's eighth and likely final annual address to the opening fall session of the United Nations General Assembly. He is expected to finish his second term in office in June 2013. In each of his past U.N. speeches, he prayed for the soon coming of the so-called Islamic messiah. This time he went much further, offering his most detailed explanation to date of his Shia Islamic eschatology (End Times theology) and his understanding of the coming rule of the Twelfth Imam. 
Ahmadinejad told the leaders of the world gathered in Manhattan that he had come this time "to voice the divine and humanitarian message...to you and to the whole world."

"God Almighty has promised us a man of kindness, a man who loves people and loves  absolute justice, a man who is a perfect human being and is named Imam Al-Mahdi,  a man who will come in the company of Jesus Christ, peace be upon Him, and the righteous," he said. Calling the Mahdi "the Ultimate Savior," Ahmadinejad said his arrival on earth "will mark a new beginning, a rebirth and a  resurrection. It will be the beginning of peace, lasting security and genuine  life."

Ahmadinejad said the coming reign of the Twelfth Imam on earth "will bring about an eternally bright future for mankind, not by force or waging wars but through thought awakening and developing kindness in everyone." The Iranian leader did not offer a specific timetable, but he did say the "sweet scent" of the Mahdi's global reign "will soon reach all the territories in Asia, Europe, Africa and the U.S."
Despite his insistence that the Twelfth Imam's reign would come without war, Shia eschatology experts say the opposite is true. Islamic theologians say Muslim political leaders today are supposed to set into motion the annihilation of Judeo-Christian civilization as we know it andcreate the conditions of chaos and carnage to hasten the arrival of the Twelfth Imam. Then the Mahdi is supposed to turn all these wars and killings to his advantage and establish justice and peace. As I have both described and documented in my books, it is this Shia End Times theology that is driving Iranian foreign policy today. This is why the mullahs in Tehran are working so hard to pursue nuclear weapons and the means to deliver the, to prepare the way for the rise of this Islamic kingdom or caliphate. 

On Sunday upon arriving in New York City, in fact, Ahmadinejad wasted no time in announcing that Israel must be “eliminated” from the earth. He dismissed any concern about a possible Israeli preemptive military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. What's more, he also refused to distance himself from – much less disagree with – the statement of a senior Revolutionary Guard commander in Tehran who said earlier that day that for the first time Iran itself was actively considering a preemptive military strike against Israel and an attack on American military bases and personnel, and that a war with Israel could turn into “World War III.”

Few world leaders are taking Ahmadinejad's eschatology seriously. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, understands it. I've discussed it with him personally. Indeed, it is why he and his senior advisors in Jerusalem are seriously contemplating preemptive military action, to keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of Ahmadinejad and men like him who are members of an apocalyptic, genocidal death cult determined to bring about a nuclear holocaust and the End of Days.

Is Freedom Of Religion A One-Way-Street For Muslims?


The Pilgrims on board the Mayflower made the perilous trip after 12 years of religious persecution in Europe.  More than anything, they wanted to go somewhere where they were allowed to worship as they thought proper and not how the government and monarchy dictated.

Religious freedom was also an important factor when the thirteen colonies rebelled against the British crown and declared their independence.  They included it in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution so as to guarantee that everyone in America would have the right to worship according to their faith.

Even though America was established as a Christian nation based largely on Christian principles, the Founding Fathers also recognized that there were non-Christians among them who should also be entitled to that same right.  Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Shintos and others all share the same guarantee of the freedom of religion here in America.  As much as I would like to see America return to its Christian roots, I realize that will never happen because of the First Amendment.

Under the First Amendment, we are also guaranteed the right of free speech.  These two aspects of the First Amendment have been used for years to defend the right of those who wish to criticize, ridicule and even blaspheme God, Jesus Christ and the Bible.  As much as these things, such as the movie The Last Temptation of Christ, offend us and cause us to speak out against such antithetical garbage, there is nothing we can legally do to stop it.
But Muslims are not as tolerant and unresponsive as America’s Christians are and they will not tolerate anything or anyone that criticizes or mocks Islam.  Case in point is the Pennsylvania judge who acquitted a Muslim of physically attacking another person because of his Halloween costume.  Even though the attack was witnessed by a police officer and was caught on video, the judge let the attacker go and lectured the victim as if he were the criminal.  Oh yeah, the judge was a Muslim.

It’s okay for Muslims to condemn, ridicule, mock and trash anything Christian, Jewish or non-Muslim in general.  However, they cannot and will not tolerate the same treatment towards their own religion.  Religious tolerance is a very narrow one way street for Muslims and that intolerance of theirs is generally dealt out with violence.  And then they have the audacity to call anyone who questions their faith an Islamaphobe.

Now, Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi is vowing to sue the filmmakers in America for producing a film that insults their prophet Mohammad.  He has already instructed the Egyptian embassy in Washington D.C. to start legal actions against the filmmakers.  In fact, he didn’t just instruct them to file a lawsuit against the filmmakers, he ordered them to use all legal measures possible to bring action against the filmmakers.

The film, Innocence of Muslims, was made to show the treatment of Coptic Christians by Muslims in Egypt.  The filmmaker identifies himself as Sam Bacile, but some believe that to be an alias of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula.

Regardless who made the film, legal precedence has been established in the U.S. that such religious directed films are protected under the First Amendment.  There was no prosecution or law suits won against films that mocked Jesus, so why should there be any against a film that only depicts how the Muslims are treating Christians?  If a Christian cross can be displayed in a glass of urine for art’s sake without any legal recourse, then why should there be any legal recourse in this case.

President Obama was forced into condemning the violence in Egypt and Libya that occurred because of the film.  He also condemned the murders of American diplomats, but only after Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan both spoke out about the attacks and condemned the attackers.  I am curious to see if anything comes of the Egyptian legal actions against the filmmakers.  If it does happen, it will clearly demonstrate just how Muslim friendly and anti-Christian America has become and how the First Amendment only applies to Muslims and no one else.

BEST SUMMATION OF BARACK AND MICHELLE EVER

This article came across my desk today and I had to share it with you. Maybe our eyes can be opened before it's too late.

The other evening on my twitter, a person asked me why I didn't like the Obama's?   Specifically I was asked: "I have to ask, why do you hate the Obama's?   It seems personal, not policy related.   You even dissed (disrespect) their Christmas family picture."

The truth is I do not like the Obamas, what they represent, their ideology, and I certainly do not like his policies and legislation.   I've made no secret of my contempt for the Obamas.   As I responded to the person who asked me the aforementioned question, I don't like them because they are committed to the fundamental change of my/our country into what can only be regarded as a Communist state.

I don't hate them per definition, but I condemn them because they are the worst kind of racialists, they are elitist Leninists with contempt for traditional America.  They display disrespect for the sanctity of the office he holds, and for those who are willing to admit same, Michelle Obama's raw contempt for white America is transpicuous.

I don't like them because they comport themselves as emperor and empress.   I expect, no I demand respect, for the Office of President and a love of our country and her citizenry from the leader entrusted with the governance of same.   President and Mrs. Reagan displayed an unparalleled love for the country and her people.  The Reagan's made Americans feel good about themselves and about what we could accomplish.   

His arrogance by appointing 32 leftist czars and constantly bypassing congress is impeachable.   Eric Holder is probably the MOST incompetent and arrogant DOJ head to ever hold the job. Could you envision President Reagan instructing his Justice Department to act like jack-booted thugs?

Presidents are politicians and all politicians are known and pretty much expected to manipulate the truth, if not outright lie, but even using that low standard, the Obama's have taken lies, dishonesty, deceit, mendacity, subterfuge and obfuscation to new depths.   They are verbally abusive to the citizenry, and they display an animus for civility.

I do not like them, because they both display bigotry overtly, as in the case of Harvard Professor Louis Gates, when he accused the Cambridge Police of acting stupidly, and her code speak pursuant to now being able to be proud of America.   I view that statement and that mindset as an insult to those who died to provide a country where a Kenyan, his illegal alien relatives, and his alleged progeny, could come and not only live freely, but rise to the highest, most powerful, position in the world.  Michelle Obama is free to hate and disparage whites because Americans of every description paid with their blood to ensure her right to do same.

I have a saying, that "the only reason a person hides things, is because they have something to hide."   No president in history has spent over a million dollars to keep his records and his past sealed.

And what the two of them have shared has been proved to be lies.   He lied about when and how they met, he lied about his mother's death and problems with insurance, Michelle lied to a crowd pursuant to nearly $500,000 bank stocks they inherited from his family.   He has lied about his father's military service, about the civil rights movement, ad nausea.   He lied to the world about the Supreme Court in a State of the Union address.   He berated and publicly insulted a sitting Congressman.   He has surrounded himself with the most rabidly, radical, socialist academicians today.   He opposed rulings that protected women and children that even Planned Parenthood did not seek to support.   He is openly hostile to business and aggressively hostile to Israel.   His wife treats being the First Lady as her personal American Express Black Card (arguably the most prestigious credit card in the world).   I condemn them because, as people are suffering, losing their homes, their jobs, their retirements, he and his family are arrogantly showing off their life of entitlement - as he goes about creating and fomenting class warfare.

I don't like them, and I neither apologize nor retreat from my public condemnation of them and of his policies.   We should condemn them for the disrespect they show our people, for his willful and unconstitutional actions pursuant to obeying the Constitutional parameters he is bound by, and his willful disregard for Congressional authority.

Dislike for them has nothing to do with the color of their skin; it has everything to do with their behavior, attitudes, and policies.   And I have open scorn for their constantly playing the race card.

It is my intention to do all within my ability to ensure their reign is one term.  I could go on, but let me conclude with this.  I condemn in the strongest possible terms the media for refusing to investigate them, as they did President Bush and President Clinton, and for refusing to label them for what they truly are.   There is no scenario known to man, whereby a white president and his wife could ignore laws, flaunt their position, and lord over the people, as these two are permitted out of fear for their color.

As I wrote in a syndicated column titled, "Nero In The White House" - "Never in my life, inside or outside of politics, have I witnessed such dishonesty in a political leader.  He is the most mendacious political figure I have ever witnessed.   Even by the low standards of his presidential predecessors, his narcissistic, contumacious arrogance is unequaled.  Using Obama as the bar, Nero would have to be elevated to sainthood...   Many in America wanted to be proud when the first person of color was elected president, but instead, they have been witness to a congenital liar, a woman who has been ashamed of America her entire life, failed policies, intimidation, and a commonality hitherto not witnessed in political leaders.   He and his wife view their life at our expense as an entitlement - while America's people go homeless, hungry and unemployed."

What Is Going To Happen According To End Time Prophecy

The Bible has a lot to say about the end times. Nearly every book of the Bible contains prophecy regarding the end times. Taking all of these prophecies and organizing them can be difficult. Following is a very brief summary of what the Bible declares will happen in the end times.

Christ will remove all born-again believers from the earth in an event known as the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54). At the judgment seat of Christ, these believers will be rewarded for good works and faithful service during their time on earth or will lose rewards, but not eternal life, for lack of service and obedience (1 Corinthians 3:11-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10).

The Antichrist (the beast) will come into power and will sign a covenant with Israel for seven years (Daniel 9:27). This seven-year period of time is known as the “tribulation.” During the tribulation, there will be terrible wars, famines, plagues, and natural disasters. God will be pouring out His wrath against sin, evil, and wickedness. The tribulation will include the appearance of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, and the seven seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments.

About halfway through the seven years, the Antichrist will break the peace covenant with Israel and make war against it. The Antichrist will commit “the abomination of desolation” and set up an image of himself to be worshipped in the Jerusalem temple (Daniel 9:27; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10), which will have been rebuilt. The second half of the tribulation is known as “the great tribulation” (Revelation 7:14) and “the time of Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7).

At the end of the seven-year tribulation, the Antichrist will launch a final attack on Jerusalem, culminating in the battle of Armageddon.Jesus Christ will return, destroy the Antichrist and his armies, and cast them into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:11-21). Christ will then bind Satan in the Abyss for 1000 years and He will rule His earthly kingdom for this thousand-year period (Revelation 20:1-6).

At the end of the thousand years, Satan will be released, defeated again, and then cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:7-10) for eternity. Christ then judges all unbelievers (Revelation 20:10-15) at the great white throne judgment, casting them all into the lake of fire. Christ will then usher in a new heaven and new earth and theNew Jerusalem—the eternal dwelling place of believers. There will be no more sin, sorrow, or death (Revelation 21–22).

This past Wednesday, the Obama Administration’s Health and Human Services mandate requiring all employers to provide contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs went into effect. Christian business owners, many non-profits, schools, and hospitals can now face legal consequences for refusing to offer services, even if doing so violates their consciences.

As we have been saying for months, this isn’t a Catholic-only issue. It goes to the very heart of our American experiment, and threatens a doctrine the West has cherished for generations. But the word is spreading, and a recent move by one of America’s foremost Evangelical colleges has made it clear that many Christians are willing to stand together in defense of religious liberty.

And as Dr. Timothy George, dean of Beeson Divinity School, chairman of the Colson Center, and co-author of the Manhattan Declaration, pointed out at our recent Wilberforce Weekend, it was a Protestant standing up for Catholics who gave us the idea of religious freedom as we now know it when he broke the spiral of silence four centuries ago.

In 1612, the English-speaking world first heard the radical idea of Thomas Helwys, a British missionary who co-founded the Baptist denomination. Helwys sought to challenge King James I’s tyranny over religion. This was no easy or safe task. For years, those who sought to practice Christianity according to their own consciences faced severe persecution. The year before, Baptist Edward Wightman was been burned at the stake for his beliefs. And while Helwys was working in The Netherlands, his own wife was thrown into prison back home.

Desperate to stop the persecution, Helwys spoke up. But rather than beg the king for mercy, he made an audacious move that ultimately cost him his life.

With his book, “A Short Declaration on the Mystery of Iniquity,” hot off the press, Helwys attached a polite cover letter and mailed this historic defense of religious liberty to King James. Needless to say, the king was less than pleased, and four years later, Helwys died in Newgate Prison, a victim of the persecution he sought to end.

But the radical idea of his book (and the church he helped start) lived on, and was adopted not only in England, but throughout the Western World — most famously in the First Amendment of our own Constitution.

His words renouncing the persecution against Roman Catholics are worth repeating here:

“For we do freely profess that our lord the king [of England] has no more power over their consciences than over ours, and that is none at all. For our lord the king is but an earthly king, and he has no authority as a king but in earthly causes…For men’s religion to God is between God and themselves.”

Earlier this month, the Evangelical Wheaton College joined its voice with the growing ranks of Catholic institutions suing the Obama Administration over the HHS mandate. Wheaton filed the suit jointly with The Catholic University of America, making this “the first ever partnership between Evangelicals and Catholics opposing the same regulation in the same court.”

This historic decision “shows the broad consensus” that the HHS mandate threatens everyone’s religious liberty, says Kyle Duncan, General Counsel for the Becket Fund, which is representing both schools.Thomas Helwys would be proud. As another overreaching government tries to forbid usfrom living out our faith in all areas of life, we need to join with Wheaton and Catholic University and stand together, across our faith traditions, for the freedom Helwys helped give us, and remind this government that our consciences answer to a higher King than James.

God's Hand Of Judgement

I do not want anyone to think that I dislike our President or the members of our Congress. I dislike the way that our leaders are taking us to a God-less society. It seems they have no respect of God and/or His Word.

I dislike that our President goes abroad and appolize for America. I dislike the fact that he thinks bigger government is better. I dislike that the present administration is taking away every one of our freedoms that they can., and it seems that we are standing by and letting them do it.

Those who are leading the fight against Christians are very few in number, but they are being successful because of the those in high leadership positions, who are doing what they are for votes in this next election. They are not caring how they get them right now. if it means bashing Christians and our beliefs, or taking the life of an unborn child, to them, so be it.

On the other hand I believe Christians out number those who are trying to destroy us; but are we really standing up for what is right. Over the last couple of days I have heard so called "Christians" saying that they were not going to get involved because we are not to judge someone for who they love and want to be with.

Case in point is the outright attack of Chick-fil-A over the past couple of weeks concerning the owner's view of traditional marriage. According to what is being said, Dan Cathy has no right to express his personal views because he is in a business that deals with the public. And if a business does not meet our standards, it doesn't belong in our communities.

Marriage between one man and one woman is Biblically sound. It is the only form of marriage. Why are we so bent on changing what God says is the Biblical way?

What we are seeing today is unnatural retrogression of man because of man's revolution against God. Here are the results, and God's Word is just like reading the top headlines in today's newspapers.

Yet, we as Christians let those who are apostate try and tell us how we are to live, and are indoctrinating our children to un-godly teachings trying to tell us it doesn't matter, just as long as two people love each other. I wonder how much sicker and gross our society is going to get before God's hand of judgement comes down on us.

The problem is that, for the most part, those who are suppose to be "Christians", seem to have no back-bone to stand against the "wiles of the devil." They are worse than a traitor. The enemy of the Church is within us; those who don't take a stand. Again, 'not everyone who says Lord, Lord, is going to enter the kingdom of God, but he that doeth my will. If you are not reading His Word, you don't know what His will is.

The only practical thing for man to do is to return to the living and true God before his hand of judgement falls on us.

Our Nation's Heritage

As we have come through our country's Independence Day Celebrations, (I personally don't like to refer to them as July 4th), we need to take a moment to reflect on our nation's rich history and the principles on which it was founded.

Could This Be God's View of America Today

Do we see in Romans 1:18-32, what is happening in America today? If you didn't know better, you would think that Paul was speaking about us.

Romans 1:18-32 (KJV)
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

In verse 18, it speaks about "The wrath of God being revealed." Actually, if you want to know what salvation really is, you have to know how bad sin is. "Sin is the measure of salvation." The wrath of God is God's feeling, not His punishment of sin. It is His holy anger. Wrath is the antithesis of righteousness, and it is used here as a correlative.

There is a continuous revelation of the wrath of God in both the Old Testament and New Testament. It is revealed in our contemporary society. This is God's constant and insistent displeasure with evil. He changes not. God is merciful, not because He is lenient with the sinner, but because Christ died. The gospel has not changed God's attitude toward sin. The gospel has made it possible to accept the sinner. The sinner must have either the righteousness or the wrath of God. Both are revealed from heaven. And you can see it on every hand.

"Against all ungodliness" -- ungodliness is that which is against God. It is that which denies the character of God. Oh, the irreligiousness of today! There are multitudes of people who disregard the very existence of God -- that is a state of the soul. That is sin.

"Unrighteousness" is against man. Ungodliness is against God, but unrighteousness is against man. What does that mean? It is the denial of the rule of God. It is the action of the soul. That man who gets drunk, goes out on the freeway, breaks the traffic laws, and kills someone -- that man is unrighteous. He is sinning against man. Another example is the man who is dishonest in his business dealings. God hates man's unrighteousness. He will judge it.

"Who holds the truth in unrighteousness" is literally to hold down, suppress the truth in unrighteousness. The wrath of God is revealed against folk who do this.

"So that they are without excuse." Creation so clearly reveals God that man is without excuse. This section reveals the historical basis of man's sin. It did not come about through ignorance. It was willful rebellion in the presence of clear light.

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

If you examine these three verses carefully, you will see that there are nine steps which mankind took downward from the Garden of Eden.

1. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

2. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

3. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

There is no such thing as man moving upward. These verses contradict the hypothesis of evolution. Man is not improving physically, morally, intellectually, or spiritually. The pull is downward. Man is moving away from God, and right now the world is probably farther from God than at any time in its history.

4. "They glorified him not as God." They did not give Him His rightful place, and man became self-sufficient.

5. "Neither were thankful." Ingratitude is one of the worst sins there is. You recall that the Lord Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one returned to thank Him. Only ten percent were thankful, and I believe it is less than that today.

6. "Became vain in their imaginations" -- they even concocted a theory of evolution.

7. "Their foolish heart was darkened." They moved into the darkness of paganism. To see living proof of this, all you have to do is walk down the streets of any town in America, to see that man's foolish heart is darkened.

8. "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools." The wisdom of man is foolishness with God. Man searches for truth through logical reasoning but arrives at a philosophy that is foolish in God's sight.

9. "And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things."

The city of Ephesus in the Roman Empire reached probably the highest degree of culture in civilization that any city has ever reached. Yet at the heart of that city was one of the most horrible images imaginable, enshrined in the temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Called also Diana, she was not the lovely image you see in Greek sculptures. She is like the oriental Cybele, the mother goddess, the many-breasted one. She had a trident in one hand and in the other a club -- she was a mean one. That is the idea the most cultured, civilized people had of God! She was a female principal, and gross immorality took place around her temple, and dishonesty of the worst sort. They had turned the glory of the uncorruptible God into the likeness of an image of corruptible man.

Man did not begin in idolatry. Man descended downward; he did not develop upward. Religiously man has departed from God. The history of religion among men is a history of degeneration. The reason today there is failure in our poverty programs and health programs and other social programs is because of gross immorality and a turning away from God. They say, "We want to be practical, and we do not want to introduce religion." That's the problem. The only practical thing for man to do is to return to the living and true God.

From verses 24-32, we see the results of man's revolution against God. In the remainder of this chapter it says three times that God gave them up.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Man's degeneration is measured by his perversion of sex. While many churches in our day are espousing sex perversion instead of condemning it, God says He has given them up. Idolatry and gross immorality are the bitter fruits of rejecting God's revelation.

"God gave them up" is literally God handed them over -- it is positive, not a passive attitude.

"Who exchanged the true God for the lie," suggests that they turned from God to Satan, the author of the lie and the father of idolatry. This is idolatry which led to the lowest depths of moral degradation.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

These are passions of dishonor and disgrace and depravity -- regardless of what public opinion is today.

Perversion entered into Greek life, and it brought Greece down to the dust. Look at Greece today. The glory has passed away. Why? Because of their sins.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient [Rom. 1:28].

Anybody who tells me that he can be a child of God and live in perversion, live in the thick mire of our contemporary permissiveness, is not kidding anyone but himself. If he will come to Christ, he can have deliverance.

The next three verses list a frightful brood of sins which follow man's rebellion against God.

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful
[Rom. 1:29-31].

This is what the human family is doing today. How much longer will God tolerate it and be patient with us? He has judged great nations in the past who have gone in this direction.

Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them [Rom. 1:32].

Man has a revelation from God, but he flagrantly flaunts it by defying the judgment of God against such sins. He continues to practice them and applauds and approves those who do the same.

Would this be the case in America today?

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2012: Is Protecting Our Liberty Becoming An Inconvenience

Our nation was originally founded to establish freedom of religion. Being a Baptists, and looking back at the history of those early years, not only in this country but also in England, Germany, Wales, and etc., we have fought, bled from the lash, pinioned at the stock, and died by the untold thousands for well over 500 years to establish and preserve this freedom.

It is the first freedom guaranteed under the Constitution, followed in the same sentence by those freedoms, which mean the most to the common man and thus to you and I.

Freedoms of:
  • speech, 
  • press, 
  • assembly and 
  • redress.
If you would closely examine these freedoms, most of them are firmly rooted in Holy Scripture. And even though the Church of jesus Christ has been on the front lines of the long fight for freedom, there have been many so called "Christians" who have slowly and insidiously “limited” our freedoms.

Freedom of religion would not exist without freedom of speech. Neither can it be partially given nor partially restrained under the law or the spirit of the law.

The church has always been the first line of defense against the erosion of liberty. What we see happening in our churches and our country today is because we have been asleep, not standing for our rights in past elections, and have let "wolves" creep in and destroy the "flock." And it all has happened because we have looked upon our responsibility to fight as an "inconvenience." There is coming a day when this “inconvenience” will be our ruin. We will be called upon to offer up our fortunes, our sacred honor, and our lives—in defense of liberty, first in the House of God and then for this nation we cherish.

Freedom must be constantly, diligently and vigorously defended.

A great president once said, “Freedom is only one generation removed from extinction.”

Remember there was a pharaoh who came into power in Egypt who knew not the one true God. Could we be re-living history, today, with our present government. It seems that our president does not know the "God" we serve; the One and Only, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last, the Bright Morning Star, who one day, maybe very soon, will call all this into account.

Will we be the generation that goes down in history as the generation who let the unthinkable happen?

So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. Galatians 5:1 (NLT)

Will Damascus Be Destroyed As Predicted In Scripture



What does the future hold concerning Damascus in relation to Bible prophecy.

There are actually two key Biblical prophecies that explain that at a unspecified time in the future, the city of Damascus will be completely destroyed — judged by God — and will not be inhabited again.

* Isaiah 17:1-3 — “The oracle concerning Damascus. ‘Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city and will become a fallen ruin. The cities of Aroer are forsaken; they will be for flocks to lie down in, and there will be no one to frighten them. The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim, and sovereignty from Damascus….’”

Damascus was the leading city of Syria, and it still is that today. Many have called it the oldest city in the world. "Damascus" in this chapter refers to the entire nation of Syria.

Ephraim is the name of a tribe of Israel, it is the name of a city, it is the name of a mountain, and it is the name of a man. Ephraim is often used in Scripture to refer to the ten northern tribes of Israel. The prophets used it in that way: "For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer.... Ephraim is joined to idols..." (Hos. 4:16-17).

* Jeremiah 49:23-27 — “Concerning Damascus. ‘Hamath andArpad are put to shame, for they have heard bad news; they are disheartened. There is anxiety by the sea, it cannot be calmed. Damascus has become helpless; she has turned away to flee, and panic has gripped her; distress and pangs have taken hold of her like a woman in childbirth. How the city of praise has not been deserted, the town of My joy! Therefore, her young men will fall in her streets, and all the men of war will be silenced in that day,’ declares the Lord of hosts. ’I will set fire to the wall of Damascus, and it will devour the fortified towers of Ben-hadad.’”

Damascus was one of the principal cities of Syria. It was taken by David, 2 Samuel 8:6, was retaken in the reign of Solomon, 1 Kings 11:24, and regained its independence. Its kings were often at war with the ten tribes, and once it joined with them for the destruction of Judah. To defend himself against these powerful enemies Ahaz made a league with the king of Assyria, who besieged Damascus, took, and demolished it. From that time we hear nothing of Damascus till we meet with it in this prophecy. It appears to have been rebuilt and restored to some consequence. It made an obstinate resistance to Nebuchadnezzar; but was at last taken and sacked by him. At present it is both a large and populous city, with considerable commerce.

These prophecies have not yet been fulfilled. Damascus as previously stated, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on earth. It has been attacked, besieged, and conquered. But Damascus has never been completely destroyed and left uninhabited. Yet that is exactly what the Bible says will happen. The context of Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49 are a series of End Times prophecies dealing with God’s judgments on Israel’s neighbors and enemies leading up to, and through, the Tribulation.

How exactly will Damascus be destroyed? When will exactly it be destroyed? What will that look like, and what will be the implications for the rest of Syria, for Israel and for the region? The honest answer is that the Bible does not say. 

The events in Damascus and Syria need to be closely monitored, and christians need to pray much for the Lord Jesus Christ to have mercy on the people of that great city. The blood shed by the Assad regime is reprehensible, and heart-breaking and is setting the stage for a terrible judgment. The believers in Christ there are being horribly persecuted, but some are still boldly preaching the Gospel and teaching the Word of God. Let’s pray that they reach all of the people of Damascus and Syria before the judgment comes.

On June 25, 1962, the Supreme Court ruled that government-endorsed prayer in school — even if it’s voluntary — is unconstitutional. Fifty years later, do we still believe that driving God, prayer, and the Bible out of public schools has served our children well?

“The ongoing contention started when Steven Engel, a Jewish New Yorker, came together with other parents in 1958 to sue New York State over state-endorsed prayer that was being recited in schools,” notes one news story. “The Supreme Court inevitably sided with Engel and the decision was issued on June 25, 1962 — a day that lives in infamy in the minds of many religious individuals and free-speech advocates. The invocation in question was one that had been approved by the New York State Board of Regents. The prayer, which read, ‘Almighty God, we acknowledge ourdependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our Country,’ was relatively benign in nature. Still, the parents were adamant that it shouldn’t be uttered in the public sphere.”

The Encyclopedia Britannica notes: “The Supreme Court’s ruling was released on June 25 and found New York’s law unconstitutional by a margin of 6–1 (two justices did not participate in the decision). Hugo L. Black wrote the Supreme Court’s opinion, in which the majority argued “that, by using its public school system to encourage recitation of the Regents’ prayer, the State of New York has adopted a practice wholly inconsistent with the Establishment Clause.” The lone dissent came from Potter Stewart, who argued that the majority had “misapplied a great constitutional principle” and could not understand “how an ‘official religion’ is established by letting those who want to say a prayer say it. On the contrary, I think to deny the wish of these school children to join in reciting this prayer is to deny them the opportunity of sharing in the spiritual heritage of our Nation.”

“A year later, the high court banned Bible reading in state schools, then overturned a state law prohibiting the teaching of evolution,” notes another news story about the anniversary of the Court’s decision. “Rulings that prayers during school commencements and athletic events also violated the separation of church and state further fueled the secular-versus-faithful battle. Even unrelated disputes over abortion and health care mandates have emotional roots reaching back 50 years to a bland prayer composed by education officials in upstate New York.”

"Is Jesus the only way to Heaven?"

"I'm basically a good person, so I'll go to heaven." "OK, so I do some bad things, but I do more good things, so I'll go to heaven." "God won't send me to hell just because I don't live by the Bible. Times have changed!" "Only really bad people like child molesters and murderers go to hell."

These are all common rationalizations, but the truth is that they are all lies. Satan, the ruler of the world, plants these thoughts in our heads. He, and anyone who follows his ways, is an enemy of God (1Peter 5:8). Satan is a deceiver and often disguises himself as someone good (2 Corinthians 11:14), but he has control over all the minds that do not belong to God. "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God" (2 Corinthians 4:4).

It is a lie to believe that God doesn't care about small sins or that hell is reserved for "bad people." All sin separates us from God, even a “little white lie.” Everyone has sinned, and no one is good enough to get to heaven on their own (Romans 3:23). Getting into heaven is not based on whether our good outweighs our bad; we will all lose out if that is the case. "And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace" (Romans 11:6). We can do nothing good to earn our way to heaven (Titus 3:5).

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it" (Matthew 7:13). Even if everyone else is living a life of sin in a culture where trusting in God is not popular, God will not excuse it. "As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient" (Ephesians 2:1-2).

When God created the world, it was perfect and good. Then he made Adam and Eve and gave them their own free will, so they would have a choice whether to follow and obey God. But they were tempted by Satan to disobey God, and they sinned. This separated them (and everyone that came after them, including us) from being able to have a close relationship with God. He is perfect and holy and must judge sin. As sinners, we couldn't reconcile ourselves to God on our own. So God made a way that we could be united with Him in heaven. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Jesus was born to die for our sins so that we would not have to. Three days after His death, He rose from the grave (Romans 4:25), proving Himself victorious over death. He bridged the gap between God and man so that we may have a personal relationship with Him if we only believe.

"Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent" (John 17:3). Most people believe in God, even Satan does. But to receive salvation, we must turn to God, form a personal relationship, turn away from our sins, and follow Him. We must trust in Jesus with everything we have and everything we do. "This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference" (Romans 3:22). The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Christ. Jesus says in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23). No other religion teaches the depth or seriousness of sin and its consequences. No other religion offers the infinite payment of sin that only Jesus Christ could provide. No other “religious founder” was God become man (John 1:1,14) – the only way an infinite debt could be paid. Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ! “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
